Book Summary:

In this story, there are three beasts and I am their initiate.

The Anguis, a secret society of power-hungry individuals, have long controlled Port Macabre from their seat at Noire House. A place where the wealthy rub shoulders and chase hedonistic pleasures. However, behind the mansion’s facade lies a poisonous, hidden underworld.

I spent one night at their mercy. An invitation to their world that I couldn’t deny, turned out to be the key to bringing my darkest fantasies to life.

They said they would come for me, but months have dragged on with no word. I’ve been forced to return to the mundane life I existed in before they gave me a glimpse of something forbidden and enticing.

What am I supposed to do, when the twisted world of the Anguis unexpectedly comes calling… and the men I thought I could trust turn out to be liars?

Suddenly, I am no better than an unwilling initiate to their world. A pawn taken by force. Someone’s pet claimed without warning.

In this sick and twisted world, I’m now someone’s possession and have been sucked into the Anguis’ customs. I am marked to be taught how to serve those who have claimed my future. One wrong move and my new masters hiding in the shadows might choose to end my life at any moment.

But as my three captors slowly reveal their individual agendas—as the proximity of being under their watchful gaze starts to break down my defenses—the greatest danger comes from falling for the men who stole my life while following orders.

Lines are crossed and desire spirals as I quickly seek out their wickedness.

I can’t succumb to three bloodstained captors… Can I?

My Thoughts:

OMG Elliott Rose has done it again. I loved Poe's story! She deserved her story with her three men Angel, Grey, and Hawke. Those three will bury anyone who messes with their girl and our little flower gets all slutty for her men.
The characters and their interactions were top-notch and the spice was over the top. These two lines say it all...
"Oh, my God." "I'm your God now, princess."
"You're our home, little flower."

Book Summary:

He already took everything from me, but now he's back and won't take no for an answer.

In a tale as old as time, a mafia princess fell in love with the wrong boy, or in my case, boys. I am Jasmine Isabella Falcone, and I grew up knowing that I needed to be on my guard from the snakes around me. But, even knowing that, I still fell in love with Angelo Esposito and Dario Lombardi.

Crushed and humiliated, I try to move on, but some ghosts are harder to shake. Now, at twenty-three, I am being forced into an arranged marriage where I’ll be expected to fulfill my duties as a wife and mother. But I dream of building something different and crave freedom from the shackles of the patriarchy. So I do the only thing I can and run. On my own for the first time on a picturesque country property nestled between Sinhaven and Beastville, I try to rebuild my life.
But fate proved that just because you run from your past doesn’t mean it won’t catch up to you.

The fairytales have it wrong. Not every story ends with a knight in shining armor.

My Thoughts:

This storyline had an Aladdin vibe. There was lots of witty back-and-forth banter, some steamy parts, violence, and love. The characters were likable if not a bit silly at times. For example, the MFC Jasmine decides to grow fruit, and vegetables, and sell them at a fruit stand... In a week they are fully grown and ready for sale. What? Other than that I enjoyed the story and the characters.

Book Summary:

Beckett,

If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have.

I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride.

My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. It’s not fair.

And here’s the kicker: something else you don’t know is tearing her family apart. She’s going to need help.

So if I’m gone, I can’t be there for Ella. I can’t help them through this. But you can. So I’m begging you, as my best friend, to go take care of my sister, my family.

Please don’t make her go through it alone.

Ryan

My Thoughts:

Get your tissues ready. This book will take you on a rollercoaster of emotions. I fell in love with the story from the start. I mean who doesn't love handwritten letters? The storyline was fabulous and just drew me in. Every page felt all too real. I laughed and I cried. I wasn't expecting the heartbreak that happened. Which made it all the more crushing. Even though it was such a roller coaster ride I highly recommend it.

The narrators: Teddy Hamilton and Jennifer Stark did an amazing job.

This story does involve the death of a child and all the feelings that go with that so be aware of that before reading.

Book Summary:

In a world where I’ve worked hard to be invisible, something is stalking me. Shadows are lurking in the strangest of places, and peculiar things that I can’t explain are beginning to happen.

If that isn’t enough, an attractive guy, Darce, has started working with me at the Bookends bookshop. I swear he’s been sent to test my last nerve, but I can’t deny the sexual tension between us. The more time we spend together, the more I feel oddly connected to him. Why does it feel like I have known him my whole life, and why won’t he let me touch him?

This can only end badly. What if I lose my mind, or something even worse… my heart?

My Thoughts:

What can I say... Alora the MFC is not a very likable character. She gives off ice queen vibes, and she treats people like trash. Then along comes Darce the MMC who is completely likable and draws you into the storyline. He has all of this mystery surrounding him and it's hard to see why he has fallen for Alora. But the two definitely have chemistry.  I of course loved that the story is inside a bookstore for the most part.  I would have liked to see more on the side characters but we may see more of them in Book 2. The story was intriguing and I'm looking forward to the next book.
