Book Summary:

Guardian of the stars, slayer of the wicked, and commander of internal darkness…

Adeena Devna finds herself the lone survivor of Astrari after a massacre was orchestrated by King Demir, the fae ruler of Tartarus. Abducted by the Royal Guard, Adeena is brought to King Demir as a potential human bride. An attack within the castle leaves the king dead at the hands of Adeena. Her escape from the kingdom is unexpectedly aided by Dreyden, the formidable yet handsome High Lord of Fire Court.

Ancient gold stars mark Adeena’s skin, a rare genetic mutation passed through villagers of Astrari. The dormant stars ignite as guarded feelings for Dreyden combust into a blazing passion. A connection from Dreyden’s past steps forward with critical information regarding Adeena’s ancestors.

Wicked trouble brews in the night sky as Adeena explores her destiny. All fingers point to the newly crowned king of Tartarus, Erebus. Adeena and Dreyden must return to Tartarus to fulfill a prophecy of the stars and stop King Erebus or risk losing the Gods forever, allowing the eternal night to take reign.

Crown of Blood and Stars is a fast-paced fantasy romance with Greek mythology influence. You may enjoy this book if you like the following tropes:

  • One bed
  • Fae smut
  • Fated mates
  • The chosen one
  • Enemies to lovers
  • Touch her and die

My Thoughts:

I fell in love with this book from the start. Adeena is such a feisty and passionate MFC. She leaps right in to do the right things. Then there is Dreyden the MMC. He is fae, sexy, and dominant. He is supposed to be this evil ruthless ruler but he's not evil at all. He cares about his people and is ready to defend them. These two have a connection right from the minute they meet. That connection leads them to a great love story. This book has great world-building and characters. I look forward to the next book in the series, The Lady of the Lost Fae.

P.S. If you like fantasy romance this could be the book for you. I highly recommend it and have already downloaded Book 2.

Book Summary:

Magic belongs to the fae. It’s always been so. But when Bri, a free-spirited human, and Era, an order-seeking fae halfling, come together for their annual family dinner, magic breaks every rule, and a nightmare is unleashed on both sides of the portal. The sisters, who have already lost enough in their young lives, might lose each other in the magical divide—unless they can mend the world that Cheia wishes to sever and split apart.

Delve into, book one of the Legends of Cheia. Prepare for a magical tale of faedoms, enemies to lovers, slow-burn romance, high-stakes adventure, and blinding chaos. Sever and Split. From the minds of Leigh Ferguson and Teshelle Combs.

My Thoughts:

This book is filled with romance, suspense, mystery, thrills, and great world-building. I loved the world-building and all of the wonderful characters. The two main characters Era (halfling) and Bri (human) are complete opposites of each other. Era is all about being the good fae and getting into the apprenticeship program. While Bri is headed into danger without thinking sister. They are both so lovable in their own ways. You find yourself rooting for them both in their fight to find out what is going wrong in their worlds. I found myself laughing and shedding a tear. This was a delightful read.

P.S. If you love fae fantasy with a little bit of spice this could be the book for you.

Book Summary:

VISIONS OF FLESH AND BLOOD: a Blood and Ash/Flesh and Fire Compendium is a comprehensive companion guide for background, history, reader-favorite information, and reference materials. Combined with original short stories and scenes from some of the world’s most beloved characters, it’s a treat for the senses.

Told from the point of view of Miss Willa herself, the compendium acts like research material but reads like a journal and cache of personal notes, allowing the reader to revisit the characters and history they so love yet view things in a different way.

My Thoughts:

This was not for me. I usually skip this part of the book if it's included. It's like a dictionary that explains all the characters and worlds, what they look like, their characteristics, mannerisms, and such. It did have some interesting details but after 2 hours I decided that 23 more hours of listening wasn't for me. On an up note... The narrator Stina Nielsen was doing a great job narrating.

In my defense, I thought it was going to be like reading Miss Willa's diary of smutty stories... My fault for not reading what the book was about, to begin with.

Book Summary:

In this story, there are three beasts and I am their blood debt owed.

The Anguis, a secret society of power-hungry individuals, have long controlled Port Macabre from their seat at Noire House. A place where the wealthy rub shoulders and chase hedonistic pleasures. However, behind the mansion’s facade lies a poisonous, hidden underworld.

With my father now gone, I am the sole heir to Noire House. They wanted his head, instead, these ruthless men settled for taking me.

I thought I had successfully escaped the curse of my bloodline, but I’ve been dragged back into the devious, twisted world of the Anguis. To protect the ones I love, I must allow these men to parade me around and claim me as theirs.

Locked away in their remote, forest-bound fortress, I am nothing more than a possession to control. To them, my life–and future–represents payment in kind and vengeance they’ve been denied.

In the world of the Anguis, death is the only way out, and these men are handsome grim reapers dressed in fine suits.

But as their heated looks and rough, blood-stained hands become more alluring each day, giving in to their games becomes a temptation I can’t avoid.

Lines are blurred and longing spills over as I quickly find myself craving their darkness.

I can’t succumb to three beautiful monsters… Can I?

NOTE: Vengeful Gods is a MMFM Why Choose/Reverse Harem Dark Revenge Romance (with MF, MM, and group scenes) 18+

Expect a hot, gritty, bisexual, enemies-to-lovers romance, with ruthless, morally gray, poly love interests. This book contains themes and scenarios common in dark romance.

My Thoughts:

OMG! This is most definitely a dark romance book.

It's full of red flags and debauchery. Foxglove Noir the MFC  is a sassy, horny, curvy, lilac-haired vixen with a degradation kink. It's a good thing she has these three...

Thorne is the uptight, alpha "daddy" type. Who keeps everything and everyone at bay. But you still want to climb him like a tree.

Kyron is the charmer of the three. He loves to talk dirty and will be the first to stir things up. Oh, and he's pierced... Yes, please!

Raven is the silent deadly killer of the group. He will gladly take out anyone who touches you and bring you body parts as a gift.

I loved all the characters and the storyline. There was so much tension and spice I couldn't put it down. I can not wait for the next book!

P.S. If you love dark romance with tons of spice this could, be the book for you. Make sure and read the trigger warnings before you start.

Book Summary:

Swallowed up in an adventure much bigger than he, Jonah finds himself in a moral dilemma as he makes the biggest decisions of his entire life, one after another. So, will Jonah be just a little mouse on a big adventure—the ride of his life all around the city of Dumpler—or will he rise to the challenge and help his home in a time of need?

My Thoughts:

This is a wonderful story about a brave 7-year-old mouse on an adventure with an Arrog. This story is meant for ages 6-9 but can be enjoyed by all ages. It is a chapter book so would be an excellent pick for a book report. The illustrations were wonderfully done and added to the story. I enjoyed it immensely.

P.S. If your child likes stories with animal characters this would be an excellent choice. The only problem I had was with the Arrog which was a dog in the illustrations. So why not just be a dog? Other than that it was great!

Book Summary:

Emilie

I never asked to marry King Cyrus, the ruler of the neighboring realm. But after his wife passed away, my parents saw an opportunity to gain his favor. They didn’t hesitate to offer my hand in marriage. Despite the circumstances, I’m determined to make the best of the situation. After all, becoming royalty comes with plenty of advantages. But first I’ll have to get past an unexpected obstacle—the king’s brother, Ladon.

Ladon

I’ll do anything to protect my family, even if it means sabotaging my brother’s upcoming marriage. I know the truth—that Emilie is a money-hungry opportunist who is unfit to be the queen. I'll do whatever it takes to see their engagement come to an end. She thought she was entering paradise, but I’m going to give her hell.

Until disaster strikes...

Now, we only have each other. Working together might be the only way to survive the twisted games we’ll be forced to play.

My Thoughts:

Emilie the FMC is a sexy, and sassy take no crap kind of gal. She is sent to marry and become queen to a man she doesn't know. Ladon the MMC is a broody I can't stand you type. He is out to protect his family from the unwelcome female. They are soon taken hostage by evil forces and forced to survive together.

I love the tension between the two and the slow-burn aspect of the storyline. You got to know both characters well. I did think the world-building could have been a bit more descriptive but it didn't take away from the story.

P.S. If you like a slow-burn fantasy romance you might want to give this one a try. I'm looking forward to the next book.
