Book Summary:
In a world where I’ve worked hard to be invisible, something is stalking me. Shadows are lurking in the strangest of places, and peculiar things that I can’t explain are beginning to happen.
If that isn’t enough, an attractive guy, Darce, has started working with me at the Bookends bookshop. I swear he’s been sent to test my last nerve, but I can’t deny the sexual tension between us. The more time we spend together, the more I feel oddly connected to him. Why does it feel like I have known him my whole life, and why won’t he let me touch him?
This can only end badly. What if I lose my mind, or something even worse… my heart?
My Thoughts:
What can I say... Alora the MFC is not a very likable character. She gives off ice queen vibes, and she treats people like trash. Then along comes Darce the MMC who is completely likable and draws you into the storyline. He has all of this mystery surrounding him and it's hard to see why he has fallen for Alora. But the two definitely have chemistry. I of course loved that the story is inside a bookstore for the most part. I would have liked to see more on the side characters but we may see more of them in Book 2. The story was intriguing and I'm looking forward to the next book.
