Book Summary:

A sexy small town, grumpy/sunshine, workplace romance by best-selling author, Elizabeth O’Roark.

EMMY
Elliott Springs has small-town values, cobblestone streets, and perfect scenery. These are things I don’t care about. What I
do care about is revenge. And no matter how incredibly compelling I find Liam Doherty—the gorgeous contractor focused on saving Elliott Springs—I’m going to get it.

LIAM
What do you call a woman who wants to destroy everything you love, yet the sight of her sets you on fire? Nemesis or soulmate…and since she can’t wait to leave California, I guess I know which one she is.

Emerson Hughes wants to be the villain in our town’s history, and the more I learn about her past here, the more I understand it.

I wanted to save Elliott Springs. I think I want to save her even more. And keep her with me when it’s over.

TW: The character is bullied about weight and body issues.

My Thoughts:

OMG! I loved this hometown enemy-to-lovers story. Emmy the MFC was bullied her whole life by her peers and was emotionally abused by her mother Sandra. You really end up hating that woman. Now Emmy is a successful businesswoman out for revenge. Her poor hometown has no idea what she's capable of. Emmy is a lovable character with real-life flaws. Then she has to deal with her contractor Liam the MMC. He is sexy, witty, and willing to break down, Emmy's defenses. He's in it for the long haul. The banter, chemistry, and emotional roller coaster will pull you right in and have you cheering for that happy ending. You will shed a tear and laugh out loud.

I listened to the audio version of this story narrated by Samantha Brentmoor and JF Harding. Oh man... they blew me away. Highly recommend!

Now I'm going to have to check out the other books by Elizabeth O'Roark. She has me hooked!
