Book Summary:

In the shadows of the Ferric Empire, where metal bends to will and healing hands conceal deadly power, Derron Frost and Cara Mallor find themselves caught in a web of conspiracy that threatens to tear their world apart.

As the dust settles from their daring heist of the Cartos Compass, Derron and Cara must navigate a treacherous landscape where allies become enemies and trust is a luxury they can't afford. With the Anomalis Council closing in and the Elemental Registration Act looming on the horizon, they're forced to confront the true cost of their abilities—and the price of their growing bond.

But in a city where every shadow hides a secret and every alliance comes with strings, Derron and Cara discover that their greatest challenge may not be the enemies that surround them, but the power that burns within. As they race against time to uncover a plot that could reshape the Ennea Realms forever, they must ask themselves: How far are they willing to go to protect what they love? And what happens when the line between protector and threat begins to blur?

Violent Steel plunges readers back into the gritty, elemental-powered world of the Enchanted Elemental Empires, where every choice carries consequences and the fate of an empire hangs in the balance. Brace yourself for a heart-pounding adventure that will leave you questioning the very nature of power, loyalty, and love.

My Thoughts:

This was a quick read with only 9 chapters. I found myself liking the MFC Cara a bit more in this book as she tended to stick up for what she believed in more. As for the MMC Derron, he is still arrogant, but I think he may come around to Cara's way of thinking and find life more valuable than the fight. We'll see in the final book, Eternal Steel.
